The grand opening of J'Adorn in downtown Kincardine was a festive affair Saturday, with specials, prizes and a delightful array of refreshments.

Owner Corinne Robertson-Brown and her husband, Bill, and their staff welcomed customers to check out the many beautiful items for sale in the store which is a wonderful combination of a chic Parisian boutique, a Provence flea market, and a hidden Italian courtyard.

Robertson-Brown said the store aims to be fresh and different, but above all, beautiful. It carries a mix of items from across Europe and North America, including distinctive statement pieces for the home, select garden decor, and exclusive fragrance lines.

Staff from myFM Radio were on hand to provide music and offer a variety of prizes, and The Tartan Toad had designed special shortbread cookies with the J'Adorn logo on them as part of the refreshments.

Joining Robertson-Brown for the grand opening were her consultants and friends, Elke Desrochers who operates "Adorn Fine Furnishings" in Port Perry, and Renée Desrochers who operates "Pamper and Soothe" in Thornbury.

Besides being the grand opening of the store, it was also a special day for Robertson-Brown who was celebrating her birthday Saturday as well.
