Kincardine councillor Randy Roppel wants to see more issues resolved which is why he is seeking another term at the council table.

The 63-year-old Tiverton resident wants to continue to be the representative for Ward 3 (former Tiverton and Bruce Township) and said there are many issues that have come up over the past seven years that need to be fully addressed and completed.

Among those are the flooding along the lakeshore from the 10th of Bruce to the former Town of Kincardine.

"We have to get that problem resolved," he said, "and so far, we've failed."

He said that even though he is a Ward 3 councillor, he is part of the entire council which is responsible to the whole municipality. So, he is concerned about issues that affect all of Kincardine.

Roppel works for Bruce Power on the Bruce A restart project.

He and his wife, Gerda, have four grown children and six grandchildren.

Also running for re-election are councillors Kenneth Craig and Marsha Leggett. Deputy mayor Laura Haight is running for mayor, and councillor Ron Hewitt is retiring from politics.

Councillor Gordon Campbell said he is running for re-election but has not yet decided if he will seek another term as a Ward 2 councillor or as a councillor at large.
