Municipal election race heats up in Kincardine

The race is on in Kincardine as four more names have been added to the list of candidates.

Ron Stephens has made it a race for mayor, taking on deputy mayor Laura Haight.

Huron-Kinloss councillor Anne Eadie is running for councillor-at-large in Kincardine, as are Ron Coristine of Tiverton and former Kincardine councillor Maureen Couture.

Running for re-election are councillors-at-large Kenneth Craig and Marsha Leggett, and Ward 3 councillor Randy Roppel. The councillor-at-large who receives the most votes becomes deputy mayor.

There is also a race for French-language public school board trustee. Eric Lapointe of Barrie is running against Guy Belcourt of Penetanguishene.
