MAN INJURED IN CYCLE-TRUCK COLLISION

 (TOWN OF SOUTH BRUCE PENINSULA, ON.) – A 47-year-old Owen Sound man was taken by ambulance to the Wiarton Hospital after he collided with a turning pick-up truck.  The incident occurred on Huron Road south of Red Bay about 8:40 am Monday.  Bruce Peninsula OPP attended and learned that the truck which was travelling north turned left across the southbound lane of Huron Road, directly in the path of the bicycle.  The cyclist was treated at the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

The truck driver, a 59-year-old man from Wiarton, was charged with the illegal turn.

MAN CHARGED WITH ASSAULT

(TOBERMORY, ON.) – A 58-year-old man from Hamilton will appear in Owen Sound Court on the 23rd of September facing two charges of assault.  Police were called to Bay Street in Tobermory, early Saturday evening, to investigate an assault. Upon arrival, police found that two men had been assaulted by a male who took offence at having a person smoking nearby.  Police located the Hamilton resident at a nearby motel and arrested him.  He was later released with the September court date.

 

IMPAIRED DRIVER ARRESTED

(MILLER LAKE, ON.) – Shortly before noon Sunday, Bruce Peninsula OPP received a report of a possible impaired driver in the Miller Lake area.  Officers attended the area and the motorist was located and stopped on Hwy. 6.  Investigation revealed the man had been drinking and he was arrested.  Breath test results were over twice the legal limit.  The accused Billy WILLIAMS, age 38, of Woodstock On., is scheduled to appear in Owen Sound Court to face drinking and driving charges on October 7th.

THEFT FROM VEHICLES

(TOWN OF SOUTH BRUCE PENINSULA, ON.) – Bruce Peninsula OPP has investigated two complaints of property being stolen from vehicles.  Cash was removed from a vehicle in the 400 block of Gould Street in Wiarton, Thursday night and a laptop computer was taken from an unlocked vehicle in the 300 block of Lindsay St. in Sauble Beach overnight Friday.

Bruce Peninsula OPP would again remind everyone to remove valuables from your vehicle and lock the doors when it is left unattended.  Many crimes are preventable.  Do your part to protect yourself from being a victim.

BREAK AND ENTER

(NORTHERN BRUCE PENINSULA, ON.) – A house that is under construction in the 700 block of Pike Bay Road was entered over the past week.  Nothing was reported missing but the door was damaged it the entry.  Police ask that the public report any suspicious activity that they may see to Police immediately.
