The Bruce County Museum
& Cultural Centre is hosting a geology bus tour on Saturday,
September 25. The adventure begins with coffee and an
illustrated overview of the “last half-billion years” of the
Bruce-Grey area in the Bruce Power Theatre at the Museum, with
tour guide, Clarke Birchard.
A resident of Chesley, Birchard has not wasted any time since retirement (after 36 years in education), as he is busy volunteering for various community projects and organizations, leading nature tours for adult groups, working for the protection of natural areas for the future, speaking on environmental topics, traveling, and just playing! He is currently also a member of the Saugeen Field Naturalists Club, Ontario Nature and the Bruce Trail Conservancy.
Says Birchard, “Dress
for the weather; wear comfortable walking/ hiking shoes; bring
lunch and a drink, suntan lotion, and a hat – binoculars might
be good too!” Water & juice will be provided on the bus.
There is limited
seating for this bus tour, so tickets must be purchased by
September 20. Tickets are $40 +HST for Museum Members and
$50 + HST for General Public. Call the Bruce County Museum &
Cultural Centre to order your tickets at 519-797-2080.
