The life guards should have done this in July and in August - maybe on the long weekends - when tourists are here.

The people for whom the message is intended will not be here for the most part!

As a volunteer, I know that the Chantry Tour boat has rescued at least 6 swimmers to date who thought they could swim to the Island.   None of them had an accompanying boat and, of course, no safety buoys or life jackets and nothing of bright colour to make themselves visible to other boaters.

So "kudos" to the life guards for their efforts to bring awareness but, perhaps, next year they could consider the timing of the event.
