Marcel Legault of Port Elgin has announced his intention to run for a position of Councillor on Saugeen Shores Town Council in the fall election. Legault, owner of Legault's Independent Grocers, says that he feels it is his way of giving back to the community. "My term as Rotary President is drawing to a close," he explains, "and both my children are now off to university so that will free up my time to pursue other interests and, therefore, I decided to run for Council." Legault and his wife, Debbie, have been involved in many community projects. "I think I have a lot to contribute to the community and look forward to the opportunity of being able to participate on Council." Legault officially filed his papers on Friday. |
