The Bluewater Summer Playhouse is pleased to welcome back the popular special event, “Wingfield Lost and Found,” for an unprecedented five shows in Kincardine.

Fans of the theatre and the series now also have the opportunity to see Rod Beattie as Walt Wingfield during a matinee performance on Wednesday, Sept. 1, at 2 p.m.

In the seventh and latest installment of this popular series of a stockbroker-turned-farmer, we find Walt Wingfield enduring one of the worst droughts in 25 years. A search to locate a new well on Wingfield Farm ensues, but distractions abound: a high-tech cattle drive, a battle with yellow jackets, a feud with a red-tailed hawk, an eccentric line-up of water witches and a well-driller who is only too happy to perforate the ground at $40 a foot. Is it the end of farming for Walt and Maggie, or can the precious liquid be found?

The Wingfield series is an annual tradition at Bluewater Summer Playhouse – having performed during the Thanksgiving weekend for the past six years.

Bluewater is especially proud to have this production as part of its 17th season as this is only the second time "Wingfield Lost and Found" has been performed in Ontario! The show opens on Tuesday, Aug. 31, and runs until Friday, Sept. 3.

Written by Dan Needles, the play is directed by Doug Beattie and stars Rod Beattie. For more information or to purchase tickets, contact the Bluewater Box Office at 519-396-5722 or E-mail boxoffice@bluewatersp.on.ca
