The Kincardine Lions Club has completed the first two sections of the North Boardwalk project and is pleased with the support it has received from those who have purchased engraved boards and given words of encouragement during the work. If you still wish to purchase boards, there are places available. The deck and promenade section by the snack shack, and the walk to the flagpole are now complete, including the interlocking brick connecting the promenade sections. The north section to the pavilion will be completed next spring while the Lions focus on completing some seating, steps, and ramps on the south section this fall. If your boards are not there yet, don’t despair. Boards ordered from the middle of June onwards have not yet been engraved. The shop class at Kincardine District Secondary School is doing the engraving and there are more than 200 boards to engrave once school gets back after the holidays. When the boards are engraved the Lions will exchange blank boards on the boardwalk for engraved ones - either this fall or next spring depending on the weather. The Lions Club appreciates Anthony Mathews of Scenic Alterations Landscaping who donated his time and landscape equipment to help with some grading that had to be completed and for donating and installing the interlocking brick. Also to Tim-Br Mart for its assistance and the KDSS shop class for engraving the boards.
