The family of Largaret Dore McInnis gathered on Sunday to celebrate her birthday. Among those at the party were Nancy and Brian King of Chatham; Annetta Macoshi, Adrienne, Arien and Armand of Chatham; Stephanie, Hylman and Kingsle To of Toronto; Ruth and Ron Dore of Teeswater; Krista, Serena and Sierra Glazier of Teeswater; Daryl and Nichole Dore of Teeswater; Tracy Dore; Diane, Keirstan and Quinn Gottschalk of Shakespeare; Lydia and Allison, Linda and Ken Graham of Toronto; and Karen McInnis of Kincardine. All the Grovers wish you a Happy Birthday too, Largaret.

Last Thursday evening the Conservation Club went to Inverhuron Park for the wind-up meeting with a walking tour of different ecosystems with guide Adrienne. The members finished up with a campfire - making spider dogs and s'mores. What a fun time!

Also last weekend, several area exhibitors attended the Jersey Show on Friday, Brown Swiss Show on Saturday and the all breed 4-H dairy open show at the Hanover Fair. Congratulations to all of those exhibitors!

Visiting recently with Jim and Fran Farrell were Chris, Monty and Tyson VandeSype; Carolyn Farrell, Kim Tiner and families; Susanne Brown and boys of Walkerton, and Bruce and Kathy Aitken of Bracebridge. Also visiting were Fran's sister's family Daniel, Kaila and Sam Burmaster of Cambridge.

Deanna and Morley Scott enjoyed the visits of Margaret and Stewart Lane, Elizabeth Nicholson, Richard and Randy Nicholson during the week.

Shirley and Doug MacDonald; Sheena and Bob Houghten and family; Meagan and Arik MacDonald; Judy, Jennifer and Rob Thompson had a great supper and visit at Marilyn and Tom Glanville's at Silver Lake Thursday evening.

Marilyn and Don Reid, and Lois and Ross Durnin of Lucknow travelled on a genealogy tour of Thessalon looking for their mutual ancestors.

 


Margaret Johnston of Hamilton is visiting with Betty and Harvey Needham.

Folks are looking forward to the Bruce County Plowing Match at Irwin Slade's on Friday.

Mary Black and Mary Anne Kukoly were at Joyce and John Farrell's for supper Thursday evening. On Friday Marjorie Armstrong, Bonnie and Irene Boyle visited at Mary Anne's. Sunday, Mary Anne dropped by to wish Doris Schwartz a Happy 89th Birthday. And on the way home, had tea with Mary Beth and Leonard Kerr. It was good to see Mary Beth feeling so much better.

Sympathy is sent to Reta Mason Webster on the death of her husband, Roy, last week. His funeral is on Tuesday in London.

Judy Thompson is home from a visit with Joan and Wes Brook in Edmonton; with her sister, Lorna, in Calgary and her sister-in-law in Kelowna, B C; her aunt and uncle in North Battleford; and cousins in Turtleford, Saskatchewan.

Ladies, we have a deadline of the end of September to complete the profiles of the Women's Institute members. Please get them to Judy as soon as possible.
