Summer is going fast but hasn't it been fun to attend the summer weddings - mostly outdoors?

Tobi-Kay Farrell and Dave Droppert were married on the 15th (Tobi is Joyce and John Farrell's daughter and Dave is Corrie and Peter Sneider's nephew); Sarah Courtney and Daniel Black were married the 21st (Sarah is Bernice and Carmon's daughter); and John MacKay and Brittany Campbell-MacKay's celebration was held Saturday evening at Debb and Brian MacKay's.

Also celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary on Saturday evening were Heather and Sam Finnie at their farm on the 10th. Many from the area enjoyed the various celebrations. Congratulations to all of you.

Congratulations, too, to the folks celebrating their August birthdays - Sandy Gander, Merle Rhody and later this month Isabel Brook.

Cheryl and Carmon Bridge were visited recently by her sister, Dianne and Ron Ellis of Auburn.

Karen and Largaret McInnes and Linda McInnes visited with Louie Misch in Walkerton.

Recent visitors with Deanna and Morley Scott were Howard Blackwell and Shirley; Betty Helm; Jorey and Karleigh Dudgeon of Paisley.

Our sympathy goes to the families of the late Marion Hartwick, Jim Elliott, and Barry McTeer. They will be missed greatly.

Some of the Ripley 4-H folks participated in the All Breeds Dairy Invitational Show at the Hanover Fair on Sunday.

Serena Lamont, Chelsey Pope, Grant Martin and Bradley Reid participated in the Go for the Gold regional championship in Broadhagen. They were worthy competitors and gained a lot from the experience.

Good to hear that Mary Beth Kerr is recovering after her surgery. And our thoughts and prayers go out to all the other folks who are having medical problems.

We are thankful  that the Paisley Heritage Weekend went well with great crowds each day.

Janet and Wayne Rhody enjoyed having their grandchildren, Skyler and Olive of Brampton and Jadzia of Tiverton last week. On Sunday, Janet and Wayne attended the Rhody family reunion in Mildmay.

Joyce and John Farrell attended the special birthday celebration for Ella Baker on the Manitoulin this weekend.
