(BRANT TWP, ON) – On Aug. 30, 15 10:33 a.m., the South Bruce OPP received a report of an assault with a weapon in Brant Township. A female was stopped at a corn field along Concession 8, Brant Township, south west of Elmwood, when a male party walked up and pushed her to the ground. He assaulted her until she kicked him and got away.

The South Bruce OPP is actively searching for the suspect with the assistance of the Canine Unit, West Region Emergency Response Team, Tactics and Rescue Unit and the OPP Helicopter.

Check points have been established around the area the suspect was last seen. Please respect these check points and avoid the incident area.

• The suspect is described as:
• Male, approximately 30 years of age
• Reddish brown hair
• Wearing red long sleeved shirt with writing on the sleeve
• Torn blue jeans
