The money will go toward the bone mineral density machine at the Kincardine hospital.

The Kincardine and Community Health Care Foundation has sold almost 60 per cent of the 1,500 tickets available in its first-ever hospital lottery.

The grand prize is a 2010 red Ford Mustang convertible, with a retail value of $35,729. There are also a bevy of other great items available, including cash prizes and gift certificates from local merchants.

A sales blitz of the lottery tickets is being held today (Aug. 27) at Jerome Flowers in downtown Kincardine, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tickets will also be on sale at the Massed Band event in Victoria Park on Saturday.

Tickets are available at Meridian Credit Union, Jerome Flowers, Co-operators and Malcolm Place -  cash or cheque only.

Tickets are also available by Visa, Mastercard, cash or cheque at the hospital foundation office, or by calling 519-396-3331, Ext. 342, until the tickets are sold out.

The early bird draw is Sept. 9 at 2 p.m., at the hospital foundation office. There will be 75 $100-prizes drawn.

The main draw will be Oct. 16, beginning at 10 a.m. at Malcolm Place, the same date as the Health Heroes Radiothon fund-raiser.

Proceeds from the lottery and the radiothon go toward the bone mineral density machine needed at the Kincardine hospital.
