St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church in Southampton celebrated its 159th anniversary on Sunday, September 12, 2010. Reverend Dr. Creola Simpson welcomed as special guest speaker, former moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Canada, Reverend Harvey Self, who now lives in Orangeville with his wife, Jane.
Reverend Harvey Self and his wife, Jane The morning service was followed by a 100-mile luncheon, the third that the church has held in support of local food producers.
Reverend Self receives a replica souvenir of Chantry Island lighthouse as a memento "We have a cottage on the East Coast," said Reverend Self, "and Jane has a collection of lighthouses so this will be a welcome addition." |
