Kurt Benninger of the Saugeen Track Club
Just how good is the Saugeen Track Club? They are the best
kept secret in the Saugeen area. On May 6th, 1954 Roger
Bannister broke the 4 minute mile at Oxford, running in 3:59.4.
Kurt Benninger of the Saugeen Track Club with his run on the 24th of
February would have been a good bet even against the legendary
Bannister. He won the Big East mile run over the weekend in
4:00.12 The Ferrell's certainly have a great touch with young
men and women. They send them off to a paid education and with
winning ways.
