The Kincardine Theatre Guild has reclaimed the "key" to the Kincardine Arts Centre from the Bluewater Summer Playhouse just in time to begin rehearsals of the fall production, "A Christmas Carol." The show opens Nov. 18 and the cast and crew began rehearsing Sept. 7. Co-directors Shirley Bieman and Sandy Blackwood have 75 members in the cast which will make it a challenge to ensure everyone is in the appropriate place at the correct time. Bieman is also musical director. Playing the major roles are Scott Marshall as Scrooge, Bill Brown as Bob Cratchit, Gareth Hall Elwood as nephew Freddy, Ron Boucher as Marley, Ken Inglis as the Ghost of Christmas Past, and Chris Mercanti as the Ghost of Christmas Present. The actor for the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come has yet to be determined. Besides the challenge of a large cast, the guild will have to deal with the restoration work being done on the arts centre. The group is hoping that the windows will be completed and the concession area downstairs will be clear in time for opening night.
