A good crowd turned out for the pre-opening cocktail party and reception for the first annual Kincardine International Film Festival, held Thursday night at the Aztec Theatre.

Sponsored by Herbal Magic and myFm Radio, the film festival began Friday night and runs through Saturday and Sunday.

Volunteers were on hand at the gala event to serve delicious food and drink before the crowd settled down to watch a screening of "The Solitary Man," starring Michael Douglas and Susan Sarandon.

The evening was sponsored in part by Pine River Cheese, Pelee Island Winery, Gilley's Feed Lot and Moosehead Beer.
