The Bervie Women's Institute met in the hall on Wednesday morning, Sept. 8.

Inclement weather prevented the group's planned walk in the Geddes Environmental Park.

Vice-president Islay Eby chaired the meeting, opening with  a reading titled, "Fall Frolic". She thanked the ladies who had baked and donated pies for the Bruce County Plowing Match.

Plans were made for participation in "Doors Open Kincardine" on Oct. 16-17, when a bake sale, Alzheimer Society donation collection, and quilting demonstration will be held in the Bervie W.I. hall.

A Rose program on pastry and pie-making is being planned, probably in November. Those interested can call 519-396-8526 for information.

Mildred Griffith presented a program of music, jokes, a humorous reading and a contest.

Prize-winning essays from the Provincial Conference competition were read.

The Bervie W.I. meetings are held the first Wednesday of the month at 10 a.m. in the Bervie W.I. hall. All ladies are welcome.
