Say "Cheese!" at the 147th annual Ripley-Huron Fall Fair slated for Sept. 24-25 at the Ripley fairgrounds. The
weekend of affordable family fun actually begins on the Thursday night
(Sept. 23) with a pre-teen dance to Power Traxs, 7-9:30 p.m., for
Grades 5-8 students. Friday night's line-up includes: - The Super Frog Contest - bring your own frog - at 7:30 p.m.
- The fourth annual Garden Tractor Pull, east of the ball diamonds, registration at 6 p.m., pull-time at 7 p.m.
- Ambassador competition and variety show, complete with a pie and cake auction, in the auditorium at the Ripley Complex
Saturday's events feature: - The Mammoth Parade at 11:30 a.m., followed by the official opening at 12:30 p.m. by Paul Harris
- The Largest exhibit of agricultural displays in the area, plus light and heavy horse, poultry and T-bone show and sale
- Glendale Farms Riding Stable and Ranch pony rides and petting zoo
- 4-H competitions - beef, dairy and sheep - beginning at 8 a.m.
- John Murray Miniature Horses
- Log-sawing and nail-driving competitions on the ball diamond
- Karaoke singing competition on the arena floor at 1 p.m.
- Car and truck show and antique tractor display
- Two Unrelated People Who Look Alike, register at the main stage before 3 p.m. - winner chosen by applause
- The Ballagh Bunch, main stage following the opening ceremonies
- Fall Fair Dance, featuring Crazymaker, 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., age of majority, $10 per person
