From time to time we like to check on what operating system and browsers our readers use.  These are gathered on a millisecond by millisecond basis every day all day.

We test the Saugeen Times and Kincardine Times using Windows and MAC's operating systems.

We also have to test using Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome and Safari.  There are other browsers on phones and other hand held devices, that we monitor.

The browsers have gotten fairly uniform in their approach, but you might be surprised at some of the subtle differences we have to account for in keeping you informed about hyper-local news

We get millions of hits per month from world-wide sources, which at first surprised us, but later we began to understand that distant readers come to us for the following reasons:

  • They are local people on trips or vacations who want to stay current with what's happening at home.

  • They are summer residents back home, checking up on things.

  • They are children or relatives of locals who are directed to a story and become daily readers.

  • They are search engine users who are directed to our sites because the article touches on something they have indexed.
