The 149th Tiverton Fall Fair was held Oct. 1-2 under clear skies. The youngest in attendance was 17-day-old Jocelyn Wilhelm, daughter of Heather and Michael. The oldest man at the fair was Russell Brooks (95) and the oldest woman was Irene Bradley (98). The person from the farthest away was Henry Herring of Cartersville, Georgia, USA.

Brooke MacKenzie, new ambassador of the fair

Brooke MacKenzie, daughter of Andy and Sandy MacKenzie, was crowned ambassador, second runner-up was Raeanne Schwandt who also won the friendship award. Takyra Steinman and Josh Brindley were crowned Princess and Prince of the Fair. Congratulations.

The Pie and Cake Auction, held Friday night, was a great success with 13 pies and cakes auctioned off by Rodney Ribey. Thank you to all the people who participated in this great fund-raiser.

The best behaved dog was awarded to Dezel owned by Caleb Campbell. The best dressed alike – dog and owner -  went to Justin Noakes and his dog Midnight. The shortest dog was owned by Grace Magure. Dezel, a Great Dane pup owned by the Campbell family, took first place in the best trick, and best sit and stay categories.

Best Waterfowl owned by Anne Stewart, Best Goose Toulouse owned by Anne Stewart, and Best Duck was a Grey Call owned by Anne Stewart.

In the Garden and Orchard crops Division - 1st in Points was won by David Fritz, and 2nd in Points was Betty Jean White. Judge`s Choice in Junior Gardeners was won by Luke McBride and 2nd Overall winner was Dyllan Mooser. Judge’s Choice in the Herb Division was won by Diane Atkinson. In the Rural Novelties Division Steven Lewis had the tallest thistle, the Theme Basket was won by Rose Marie Young. The “Display from my Garden” plaque was won by Judith Gutter.

In the Homemade Wine category the Best Overall wine made from scratch was won by Dave Fritz, and the Best overall wine made from a kit was won by Bob Wilson. And the Best Overall wine was won by Bob Wilson.

In the Woodworking Division - Under 20 category, Open class – made at school 1st place Stuart Gaudet, 2nd Rebecah Wharry and 3rd Steven Lewis; 1st for wooden game Steven Lewis, and 1st for Wooden toy-no moving parts Rebekah Wharry.

In Division 23 Plants and FlowersMost Points in Potted Plants was won by Mary Campbell, Most Points in Cut Flowers by Deb Marcinowski, Most Points in the Design category won by Mary Campbell and Jamie Convay won most point in the Men Only category. Most Points in the Plant and Flower (Overall) 1st Mary Campbell, 2nd Lois Bradley, 3rd Deb Marcinowski and in 4th place Mary Young.

Division 24 Canned Fruits and Vegetables- 1st place Linda Munro, 2nd place Diane Atkinson. Highest Points newest Exhibitor was won by Tracy Vandewiel Congratulations.
