Rotary Clubs around the world continue to work for the improvement of quality of life for children in particular.

Erin Zorzi, (Port Elgin),   ROGER THORNE, (Tara), Kelly Fotheringham (Past District Governor, Mildmay club & Cameroon Program),  Gord LeQuyere (Tara)  &  Nancy Ottewell, Assistant District Governor &  Hepworth/Shallow Lake club.

Port Elgin Rotary Club is funding a pilot project to protect children from malaria and other nasty insect diseases. They have picked up the cost of mosquito nets being distributed in some of the poorest-of-the-poor  'goat-trail" villages IF the recipients attend a family health clinic. The villagers must receive instruction on how to use, care, and maintain these nets before they receive them.

AIDS/HIV (rampant) prevention is also included.   A doctor (male) is hired for CAN$5.00 per day for the men, a nurse (female) is hired for another CAN$5.00 for the women - to take care of cultural differences.

As of today TWENTY (20) Clubs have banded together to give a HAND UP & not a hand out! (Villagers MUST provide labour or some meaningful participation in every project).

Fort Gratiot in MI, USA has joined TODAY!
