Microsoft's Windows Phone 7 Come on the Market November 8th, 2010

The Samsung Focus is the first smartphone from Samsung powered by Microsoft’s new Windows Phone 7 to be launched in Canada. It will be going on sale shortly at Rogers Wireless outlets across the country. There’s no word on the pricing or exact date of availability, although many are expecting it to be available starting on November 8th.

Microsoft recently unveiled its new product, the Windows Phone 7 Microsoft is counting on this being a winner. You don't need a computer to set it up and some of the kids, who track these things are anxious to buy one.

Experts maintained that Microsoft has done the right thing by ending all ties with old software and hardware. As soon as you will switch on the Windows Phone 7, you will notice that it is different from its predecessor because instead of the Start menu of Windows Mobile, you will find a set of tiles representing the most-used parts of the phone.  People who have tested it seem to like the tiles.

You can access these tiles using your thumb and can also add such items as an address-book listing, an application or a Web bookmark. WP7's version of Internet Explorer is not up to the mark and is not like the IE version of the iPhone and Android browsers. The WP7 however, displays non-Adobe Flash pages quite quickly.  Flash  is a bone of contention with Apple as they attempt to avoid it because Flash is an Adobe product

Focus, which is set to release tomorrow or so experts say, also exhibited weak battery life in steady use, lasting only about four hours, with radio playing and the screen mostly lit. It is to be noted that the iPhone 4 and recent Android-powered devices have a battery life of at least six or seven hours. But the standby battery life of Focus was better than any Android phone according to those who test such things..
