The Bluewater Astronomical Society (BAS), formerly the Bruce County Astronomical Society, is continuing to raise funds for the construction of an astronomical observatory at the Outdoor Education Centre in Bruce County.

The BAS will hold a dinner and silent auction along with entertainment and guest speaker, Tim Cooper, who will speak on the 'Mystery of Crop Circles', on November 20th.

The funds will be used for the BAS outreach programs in addition to supporting the more than 4,000 students who attend the Outdoor Education Centre annually.

Construction of the observatory has begun and first light will be initiated in the spring of  2011.
