The War Brides exhibit that opened today (Nov. 16) at the Bruce County Museum and Cultural Centre is very obviously a passion of its creator, Bev Tosh.
Paintings on wood and hundreds of photos The many images are painted on raw plywood, each piece handpicked by Tosh so that the grains of the wood complement each image. The opening featured a slide presentation of her work by Tosh who explained in detail the intricate work involved in completing each full-life image. Music of war-time favourites of Vera Lynn and others of the era by vocalist Sandy Lee Lindsay and pianist, Liz Dadson, had the near capacity audience singing along to the songs that they remembered from their youth.

"We really do have gem in Bruce County in the way of this Museum. This is one of those exhibits that will touch the hearts and memories of many who live in the County."
