What was once a train station and an historic stop along the Lake Huron shoreline at Southampton in Ontario, and one of the few remaining original stations in Ontario, may soon become a thing of the past.

The property has not only been re-zoned and put up for sale, it has also been recently approved by the local town council for re-zoning once again with no restrictions as to its possible demise, despite the fact it is one of the most historical buildings in the area.

The property has now been approved for severing to a minimum of four lots with approval for what could be a townhouse development on the east side of the property.

Work began on re-zoning and surveying

Tom Stewart Contracting began construction of the service line hook-ups on Tuesday with the work to continue through Wednesday and possibly Thursday (Nov 11).
