Remember

By Natalie Potter

Remember those who fell
A thousand tales to tell
Remember those we've lost
Their lives, the battles cost

Remember those who fought
Never could be bought
Remember those who gave their lives
Tried their hardest to survive

Remember all the wars
Settling the scores
Remember those who fell
A thousand tales to tell

Paradise Lost

By Natalie Potter

Gunshots through the night
A never-ending fight
Obliterate my home
The only thing I own

A war that can't be won
Has only just begun
Explosions ringing through my ears
Take away all my fears

Like the rising tide
I'll stand by your side
We won't go up in smoke

Surrender

By Shoshana Jarvis

A loud Bang wakes me from my sleep,
I jolt up in bed, scared to leave my bed
Panic sets in, I fear for my life, and
The lives of my family, my mother, father
And sisters, where are they? Are they dead?

What about my school? My friends?
My home, my city, all destroyed in seconds, why?

All the screams chill me to the core,
Tears sting my cheek as they roll down
My face, I'm too scared to move.
Why? Why me? Why my home, my country?
My people? Why?

I'll never understand war.

I just want the pain to stop ...

But I'll never surrender, never.
I'll fight for myself, it's all I
Can do ... And it's all I will
Do.
