Congratulations to the 4-H members on the Bruce County classic dairy team who competed last Sunday and Monday. They placed seventh overall, and to the Huron County "Go for the Gold" team which placed third in last Saturday's competition. Congratulations also to all the local folks who exhibited animals during the week. Dayna Simpson, ambassador of the Ripley-Huron Fall Fair, accompanied the Grade 7 class from Ripley-Huron Community School to the Royal Winter Fair on Monday. There was a great crowd attending the Remembrance Day service in Ripley this year. Thanks to the Ripley-Huron Community School band and all the children who participated in the service. Arik and Alexander MacDonald laid wreaths during the ceremony. Thanks to the Kincardine Hospital Auxiliary and to those who hosted the Christmas Tour of Homes this year. It was enjoyed by many in the community. Happy Birthday to Deanna Scott and Mary Anne Kukoly who had birthdays last week. Congratulations to Maureen and Roy Collins on the arrival of their first Collins grandson early on Sunday morning. The sympathy of the community is extended to the family and friends of Lynn Pengilley whose funeral was held on Saturday. Lynn's cheerfulness and friendship will be missed by many in Ripley. Fran
and Carmen Farrell visited with Hannie Scott of Ashfield; and with
Elsie and Gerald Schuler of Teeswater. They collected square dance
skirts for the Bruce County Junior Farmers who are attending the
Ontario Junior Farmers' Sing Swing events in Ancaster next weekend.

at Irene Boyle's new apartment in Kincardine for a pot luck lunch and
afternoon of fun.
Marilyn and Don Reid enjoyed a holiday in Pennsylvania last week. Agnes and Bill Folmer of Chepstow accompanied them. Ruthe
Duncan of Bloomingdale, Pam Bosman, Marilyn Geddes and Mary Anne Kukoly
attended a bridal shower for Suzanne Colwell at Mary Lou and Allan
