On Friday, November 19, some of the students at Saugeen District Secondary School (SDSS) took part in a 24-hour 'Vow of Silence'. The effort was to try and raise money and awareness for the children in the world who do not have a voice due to a lack of education. The money raised will go toward building a school in Sierra Leone. Many of the students are members of the 'Me to We' group in the school and, while a final total is not yet available, student, Lindsay Plater raised $381.08 in only three days.
