Our sympathy goes out to Wally Breckles and his family on the death of his wife, Mary. The mourners who attended the visitation and funeral were a sign of the respect the Breckles family holds in Kinlough and the surrounding community.

Holly, Ian and babe, Lochlan MacDonald of Lloydminster, Saskatchewan, are home visiting with Shirley and Doug MacDonald and the MacDonald family.

There was a good attendance at the Purple Grove Community Centre Annual Meeting. Chairman Paul Murray, ably assisted by Diane McCulloch and treasurer Heather Finnie, kept the agenda moving well. Plans were made for events coming up in the next year and for work needing to be done as well.

Congratulations to the Ripley Horticultural Society for another great event. Everyone enjoyed getting together and the great pot luck lunch.

Many folks from the area attended the Thousands of Nativities event in Walkerton this week and were awed by this amazing display.

The Bruce County Junior Farmers attended and participated in many of the events at Sing Swing in Ancaster this weekend. Along with the square-dancing, ballroom-dancing and vocal classes, they also entered  baking, sewing and cake-decorating classes.  A very good weekend for all and the girls really appreciated the loan of square-dancing skirts!

Jim and Fran Farrell visited with Simon and Jan Logtenberg of Dungannon on Sunday afternoon.

Our sympathy goes out to the family of Ken McLeod who came from the St. Thomas area. He was living in the former Burton Collins residence.

Mary Anne Kukoly went on a ramble Wednesday. She had lunch with Frances (Scott) and Bev Kingston of Chesley, supper with cousins Dianne and Wayne Orr of Holstein, and a brief visit with Mary-Lou and Allen Colwell in Harriston.

Sorry to hear some folks are having a tough time shaking a nasty cold. Get well soon all of you.
