Carla Pavlov of CR Interior Designs
Many people think that getting the services of an Interior Designer can be an expensive proposition when actually, it can save you money through costly trial and error. Nicole and Dan Marlowe had tried to decorate their home but nothing seemed right until they asked CR Designs for help. "There were so many times that I bought things and then, when I got them home, I didn't like how they looked," says Nicole Marlowe. "Also, being relatively new to the area, I didn't really know where to shop or how to even begin." Now, that the Marlowe's have been workinig with designer Carla Pavlov, their home has seen subtle, and some not-so-subtle changes. The living room and dining room have been completely switched. "Our dining room set was too large for the area and our sunken living room was hardly used as we have a family room. Now, that we have a large sunken dining room, we actually do more entertaining and our small, cozy living room is almost an extension of our open floor plan kitchen - it's wonderful." Marlowe has learned, through working with CR Designs, to never go shopping without paint chips and carpet or upholstery samples in order to avoid those costly mistakes. Working with a designer, according to Pavlov, should be comfortable experience for both parties. "A designer should be able to determine a person's lifestyle needs and should take the time to consult thoroughly with the individual as everyone is different." According to Pavlov, a good designer will also work within a client's budget to ensure satisfaction. For your designer questions, write to Ask Us/Designer.
