The Blue Water Board of Education announced recently that it will be conducting an Accommodation Review Assessment on several schools in its mandated region. Among the schools are Saugeen District Secondary School
(SDSS) and others in Kincardine. Saugeen Shores' Councilor, Diane Huber, attended the first meeting and said, "...it was interesting that all four upcoming meetings may be held in Kincardine because one of the schools, SDSS, is in Port Elgin. I will try to get at least one of the meetings moved to Saugeen Shores given that SDSS is on the list." According to Huber, the review was triggered because of the number of students in each school. The Provincial funding formula is based on what is termed as "heads in the room" referring to numbers of students. For complete list of Schools - click here
