From everyone at Purple Grove and area, we wish you the merriest of Christmas celebrations and a wonderful year in 2011.

The Christmas church services are lovely and it was good to see a good attendance at Knox Presbyterian Church for the candlelight service. The special music by the Gilchrist family was appreciated thoroughly.

The annual Purple Grove Christmas evening was held on Saturday. There was a smaller number than usual, but everyone had a good visit and enjoyed Bradley Reid's violin solos. Afterwards, Mary Anne Kukoly visited with Judy Thompson.

Many of our families gathered on the weekend:

  • Betty and Harvey Needham travelled to Matthew Holland's at Rockwood for their Needham Christmas.
  • Taylor and Madison Boyle of Bracebridge spent the weekend with Grandma Irene Boyle in Kincardine and  the Boyle family celebrated with them on Sunday at Irene's apartment.
  • Fran and Jim Farrell joined with the Farrell families at Laura and Garry's on Saturday at Port Hope.
  • Shirley and Doug MacDonald were at the MacDonald family gathering at Donna and Perry Elliott's (lots of little ones there we hear).
  • Joyce and John Farrell and family entertained John's family on Sunday.

Sunday visitors with Deanna and Morley Scott were Betty and Art Helm and Susan and Fred Doupe.

Fran and Jim Farrell spent some time with Lillian and Derk Logtenberg in Goderich on Sunday.

Blessings on all of you and please drive carefully and safely to all your Christmas festivities.
