Well, Kincardine council did not have a chance to discuss either the proposed learning centre or the municipality's governance model Wednesday night (Dec. 15), because the stormy weather caused the cancellation of that meeting. It has been re-scheduled to Monday, Dec. 20, at 5 p.m. Also on Monday, separate to the council meeting, two presentations are slated, at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., in the council chamber at the Kincardine municipal office, regarding the West Ridge on the Lake project. This subdivision is proposed on lands on either side of Hartwick Lane, to the west of Bruce County Road 23 (B-line), north of Huron Ridge, and south of Wickham Cove Lane. The revised plan of the development has been submitted to the municipality for review. Parataxis, a company specializing in designing walkable, compact, mixed-use communities, was commissioned to revise the original plan, and now has completed a "re-design" of the project. The public is invited to attend either presentation and will have an opportunity to provide comments and have any questions answered. If you have further questions or cannot attend the presentations but want to discuss the proposed project, contact Andrew Martschenko at 416-767-7705 or by E-mail at andrew@urbanproportions.com To view a map of the proposed project, click here |
Meanwhile, weatherwise, Highway 21, between Kincardine and Amberley, was opened early Thursday morning (Dec. 16), leaving only Highway 21 between Kincardine and Port Elgin closed. Crews were working to clear large drifts from the travelled portion of the highway, which was expected to be open by today (Dec. 17). Scrolling stops when you move your mouse inside the scroll area.
