Despite a blustery wintry day, about 20 members of the Kincardine Brass Band were joined by three guest musicians and a guest percussionist, for the "Carols in Brass" concert Sunday afternoon at the Kincardine United Church.

Under the direction of Nancy Ross, the performance showcased the amazing talent of the local musicians who hail from Kincardine, Port Elgin, Goderich, and area.

The guest drummer was Steve Hearn, the band conductor's brother, of Clinton.

Ross said the Kincardine Brass Band performed at the Suncoast Mall in Goderich on Saturday which was an interesting experience.

The band had 10 guest musicians there, including two from London.

The invitation went out again for Sunday afternoon in Kincardine, for anyone with a brass instrument who wanted to join the band for the concert. The three guests included Dianne Sharp of Port Elgin and Ed Marak and James Hardman of Kincardine.

The show incorporated a marvellous variety of performance pieces, and familiar carols at which time the audience of about 100 was encouraged to sing along.

The band's next performance is Feb. 13, 2011, at North Street United Church in Goderich for a show called "The Kincardine Brass Band and Friends."
