On Wednesday February 9, 2011 the Family YMCA Youth Gambling Awareness Program will be hosting an internet safety night titled “Your Child and the Internet; Do You Knows What They Are Doing?” at Saugeen District Secondary School from 6:30 pm- 8:30 pm. This evening will be a collaboration of safety tips for social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter and MSN Messenger as well as education on online gambling through the YMCA Youth Gambling Awareness Program. Guest speakers will be Constable Susan Briggs from the Saugeen Shores Police Services and Chelsea Donohue Youth Outreach Worker from the YMCA Youth Gambling Awareness Program. Parents and youth service providers will learn about the possible risks associated with internet use and how to develop ways to ensure their children’s safety. Youth are also welcome and encouraged to attend this educational event with their parents. Please note that in the case of inclement weather this event will be rescheduled for Wednesday, March 9th, 2011. To reserve a spot please RSVP by February 7th, 2011.
