You never know what the night will bring. While the Saugeen Times was out 'Capturing your Weather' during Tuesday night's snowstorm, we happened to see someone else strolling up the main street of Southampton with a camera and taking photos. Never one to be shy, we approached the young man and asked what he was doing. "I'm originally from here," he said, "and wanted to take some pictures." Doug Miller, son of Mike Miller who lives in Saugeen Shores, explained that he was now living in Japan and wanted to take some photos back with him. He and his wife Melissa, who is originally from Toronto and who now works for IKEA Japan on a five-year contract, live in Japan but had returned for Christmas. The couple will return to Japan on Friday, January 7th and, fortunately, they now know that they have an even "closer tie to home" ,,, through the Saugeen Times. |
