It's been called the goal of the century, and now, the people of Lucknow will be the first in Canada to welcome the No. 19 jersey, worn by Canadian hockey legend Paul Henderson when he scored the winning goal against Russia in the 1972 Summit Series.

Henderson's home town was chosen as the first stop on a 60-city tour of Canada, through an on-line contest.

The hockey great will be in Lucknow on Friday, Jan. 28, in Kincardine on Jan. 29, and in Goderich on Jan. 30.

Henderson said it’s a perfect way to begin the tour because he grew up in Lucknow, was born in Kincardine, and lived in Goderich while playing for Detroit.

The Henderson Jersey Tour will visit 15 towns and cities until May of this year. A second leg will cover Atlantic Canada and Quebec.
