On February 3rd at 2:00 p.m. at the Grey Roots Museum, the United Way in partnership with the Grey Bruce Labour Council, and Unionrocks (a local pro labour youth project) will host the first in a series of youth lead forums aimed at encouraging young people’s participation for issues that concern them.

The first forum will be kicked off with a screening of the award winning documentary, Sounds Like a Revolution, and will focus on media, censorship, and how the new media is helping young people find their voice. A question and answer session will follow the screening.

Admission is a donation for area food banks.

Invitations have been sent to youth and schools throughout Bruce and Grey counties.  We are currently working on plans for future forums to include topics ranging from the economy and jobs, to energy and the environment, with a focus on encouraging youth to get involved with the political process from voting to lobbying.

A free bus will be leaving the Metro parking lot at 1:30 pm to provide transportation to Grey Roots and return.
