The Bruce Children Are Special Foundation has won second place in a grant program for charitable organizations.

The foundation was nominated as one of the top 10 charities in Canada by the Pepsi Refresh and Pizza Delight Grant Program. 

The Bruce Children Are Special Foundation was the only charity from Ontario nominated and the winner was chosen by fans voting on Facebook. 

The foundation received 2,000 votes but that wasn't enough to take home the $5,000 prize. The winner garnered 5,000 votes - Restigouche County Volunteer Action Association Inc. of New Brunswick.

The Bruce Children Are Special Foundation will not walk away empty handed thanks to the Walkerton Pizza Delight. A grant of $1,000 will be given to the foundation. 

Foundation administrator Cherie Borho says it's okay the organization didn't win. It was pleased just to be nominated. The foundation appreciates everyone who took the time to vote in the contest.
