Winter in Bruce County can be daunting but, at the Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre (BCM&CC) it's a time for a variety of activities that embrace the season. Family Heritage Day on February 21st is all about fun for the entire family. The day will include fun entertainment with wildly funny entertainer, Dickie Bird, for two shows - 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. - a variety of demonstrations including hands-on activities and a food booth from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.. Visitors will also be able to tour the Museum and take in the newest exhibit in the OPG Feature Gallery, 'Extreme Nature' and where past occurrences of extreme natural happenings in Bruce County can be seen in the Bruce Gallery. Among the activities that families can try are spinning and weaving and snowshoeing. Sponsorship of the 2011 Family Heritage Day is through the Saugeen Shores Community Fund, under the umbrella of the Community Foundation Grey Bruce. While admission is free, a donation to the local food bank would be appreciated and ... the Museum will be offering 10 per cent off family memberships during Family Heritage Day and admission for the day is FREE. |
