Huron-Kinloss mayor officially running for provincial PC nomination

Huron-Kinloss Mayor Mitch Twolan officially kicked off his campaign for the Progressive Conservative (PC) nomination in Huron-Bruce, Tuesday night (Feb. 1) at the Point Clark Community Centre. 

Family, friends and supporters were on hand to encourage him in his bid to make it to Queen's Park.

A long-time resident of Huron-Kinloss, Twolan is a local real estate broker and past employee of Ontario Hydro. He is in his fifth term on Huron-Kinloss council and has held the mayor’s post for seven years. 

He was elected warden of Bruce County in 2007 and has served on numerous boards across the region including Bruce and Huron counties.

While he awaits a possible foray into the provincial political arena, Twolan is quick to say is job of mayor is paramount. “I’m still 100-per-cent committed to the Township of Huron Kinloss.”

The nomination meeting in Huron-Bruce has been set for April 16 at the Ripley-Huron Community Centre.

There are two other declared candidates: John Bizare of Clinton and Lisa Thompson of Teeswater.
