As long as we aren't paying more for  items

I need the pennies for Pokeno!

Keep the penny but quit making new ones. They say it costs 1.5 cents to  make a penny so why not pay 75 cents  for a roll of pennies to get more back  into circulation.

Penny removal will mean that prices will be rounded to the nearest  nickel...and then when the tax is added it will have to be rounded to  the nearest nickel as well....it never  rounds down!!! It will add up  considerably over the course of a year.

The penny still has value and I heard  there are ways to manufacture it so  that it doesn't cost more than one  cent to produce a penny.

Use some *sense* & find a cheaper way  to make a penny or it will cost us  more than a few cents here & there!  Remember that despite the reassurances  when packaging switched from imperial  to metric the consumer seldom came  out ahead.

We visited Australia recently and they no longer use the penny and it appears  to have been accepted by everyone

When it costs more to make a penny  than it's worth it's time to look at  the situation

With the tax at 13 percent the businesses will just make more. I know that it is a nuisance but 100 of them still make a dollar!
