October cannot come fast enough!

It is very strange times we are living in.

Look at the Middle East and the Orient, parts of the world where what we may refer to as the “cradle of civilization,” have been ruled for the most part by leaders who did so by force of the sword - dictatorial and autocratic in their rawest forms.

The citizens of the various countries are, just recently, rioting and screaming for the freedom to elect their own representatives by way of the Ballot Box. After hundreds of years, they want democracy!!

The Peers of Britain, who fought and won the battles to overcome the “Divine Rights of Kings,” began what now has become the demands to select or elect members of their governments.

Revolutions in France rejected their "Royals.”

In North America, under the banner of “no taxation without representation,” a Revolution resulted in the formation of Republican Democracy.

We, in Canada, have retained a limited position for our Monarchy. We believe that we live in a Democratic society
.

Fast forward to our present time. We, in Canada, freely elect members to Parliament or to Legislatures, who are expected to act within democratically-established rules and regulations.

Sometimes, it is not long before those elected to govern start acting as if the citizens are their “subjects,” to be ordered about, and to comply, without having any “say” in any of the decisions that affect them.

This is Autocracy, a first-cousin to dictatorship!

This type of “governance” is particularly evident in the health care systems. “Get rid of those small rural hospitals - they are too costly!" Money is the only interest.

Fortunately, we have a remedy for this type of governance - vote them out of office.

OCTOBER CANNOT COME FAST ENOUGH!
