Bruce Power has been fined $80,000 for violating the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

The fine stems from an incident that occurred in 2008 when a Bruce Power electrician was working on an overhead catwalk and dropped an electrical panel.

The panel hit a construction worker who suffered minor head injuries.

The Ontario Ministry of Labour investigated and found that Bruce Power didn't have any signs posted under the catwalk to caution workers about the possible danger.

Bruce Power, a private nuclear generating company, operates at the Bruce Nuclear site in the Municipality of Kincardine.
