The Saugeen Rail Trail Association has requested an increase in grant funding from the Town for 2011. The request for the $1,500 would see the grant increase from $13,500 to $15,000. The Association has asked for the funding increase in order to construct a washroom facility at the River Street Trailhead area in Port Elgin. The funding that had reached a ceiling of $20,000 was subsequently decreased to $13,500 but the new washroom facility is being considered as part of the Community Services' 2011 capital program and, therefore, the grant increase will be coming forward in the budget on March 14th..
