The Royal Canadian Legion has long been a supporter of youth and community activities and, on Wednesday (Feb. 16) they once again demonstrated their support. Southampton Branch of the Legion presented $2,000 to the G. C.Huston Public School music program. "We are very grateful for the support," said Music Teacher, Kent Boys. "The money will be used for all kinds of things including instruments, percussion equipment and musical supplies." Music has been proven to be a catalyst for students in learning and, in Saugeen Shores, the music program has been recognized as one of the best in the Province [Ontario] with many music awards being won over the years. |
