The Ripley-Huron Skating Club was doing some "Channel Surfing" through its annual skating carnival held Sunday at the Ripley Arena.

The show opened with Megan Lowry and Lauren Scott as "Thing One and Thing Two," followed by Morgan Colling doing the Dutch Waltz, Maggie Robinson performing her Introductory A Freeskate, and Lauren Richardson doing her Pre-Preliminary StarSkate Freeskate routine

The channel then flipped to "Madagascar" featuring Emily Cassidy, Rhys Davis, Kirsten Feldmann, Ronnie Bechard and Cheyanne Liddle in beautiful outfits.

Taryn Fry performed her Introductory A Freeskate, followed by Rachael Nivins doing her Preliminary B Freeskate, and Sarah Shiels doing her Junior Bronze StarSkate Freeskate.

Flip the channel and it was the "101 Dalmatians" with Emerson Priboj, Kenzie Fry, Gavin Feldmann, Hannah Cassidy, MacKenzie Neabel and Hannah MacDonald in their spotted dog outfits.

Brooke Thomas performed her Special Olympics Freeskate Level 1 routine, followed Kaleigh Thomas doing her Pre-Preliminary B Freeskate, and Brooke Leppington performing her Introductory Interpretive program to "The Kite."

The channel flipped to the "Wizards of Waverly Place," featuring Kate Leppington, Abby MacDonald and Tory Fry in lively wizard costumes.

Jenny Johnston performed her Introductory A Freeskate program, followed by Rachel Jedemann doing her Introductory A Freeskate, and Kelsey Hunter doing her Preliminary B Freeskate.

Zap the remote control again and it was on to "My Little Pony," with Addison Wilken, Teagan Priboj, Layne Irwin, Lauren White, Tessa Neitzel, Rachel White and Valerie Biswanger.

Special guest Rosie Laidler of the Kincardine Skating Club performed her routine, which won her two gold medals at the Special Olympics Winter Provincial Games in Thunder Bay.

Rosie has been skating for about 20 years, competing in Special Olympics for 15 of those years. She began her skating career at the Ripley Arena, and has attended many Special Olympics competitions - local provincial, national and international - and has won numerous medals.

Annie Leppington performed her Pre-Preliminary StarSkate Freeskate, followed by Marley Martyn in her Preliminary StarSkate Freeskate.

Flip the channel and it was "Inspector Gadget," featuring Brandan Holland, Sarah Cassidy, Sarah Durnin, Dean White and Lily McDermid.

Sabrina Drankhan performed her Pre-Preliminary StarSkate Freeskate routine, followed by Julia Richardson in her Preliminary StarSkate Freeskate, and Meghan Johnson doing her Silver Interpretive program to "The Hummingbird."

The channel then switched to the "Flintstones," with Connor France, Bianca Holland, Calum Davis, Stacy Gibson and Megan Hirst.

Callie Martyn performed her Introductory B Freeskate, followed by Bethany Wilken in her Gold Interpretive program to "A Rose Blooms."

The final flip was to "Bob the Builder," featuring Danny Bechard, Branson Black, Jacob Curran, Lucas Neitzel, Gavin Elliott, Tanner Smith, Joshua Kelman, Travis Richardson, Dylan Neitzel and Jaden Meyer.

Eline Gutter performed her Preliminary B Freeskate, followed by Judith Gutter in her Junior Bronze B Freeskate, and Rachel Stewart doing her Preliminary B Freeskate.

The show ended with the Junior and Senior skaters doing a Glee Finale, and then the entire club gathered on the ice.

Coaches of the skating club are Nicole Richardson, Brenda Hill, Ray Stewart, Renee Renaud, Amanda P. Smith and Megan Laidler. Dan Wilken was the announcer and Judy Snobelen was in charge of costume design.
