Fifteen students, from Grades 1-8, took to the stage at the Kincardine Legion in the the annual public-speaking contest. Five participants competed in storytelling at the primary level (Grades 1-3), with the following results:
There were six contestants in the junior division (Grades 4-6), with the following results:
Four students competed in the intermediate division (Grades 7-9) with the following results:
![]() Legion president Red Larsen (R) presents the intermediate first-place certificate to Marc Glipo The speakers received certificates of recognition from Legion president Red Larsen, and youth and education co-ordinator Carole Robinson, who organizes the contest every year.She noted that this is her final year as youth and education co-ordinator and of being in charge of the public-speaking contest. She thanked the judges, Lise Blais, Eva Wilken and Nancy Clark, timers Betty Fry and Erva Verheye, scruitineers Red Larsen and Dave Dyer, and all who participated. She urged the Grade 8 students to come back next year and take part in the intermediate level, and all are invited to participate in the annual Remembrance Day poster and essay contest. The first-place winners at this year's speaking contest, Devony House, Brontae Hunter and Marc Glipo, will represent the Kincardine Legion at the zone competition in Clinton on March 5.
