Local Optimists continue to help youth

The primary focus of the Optimist Club is to help youth and schools and the local SouthPort Optimist Club recently contributed toward much-needed computer lab equipment.

Saugeen District Secondary School French teacher, Cheryl Kothe (L), accepts donation from Optimist Sandra Stewart

The Optimists donated $506.90 to be used for the  purchase of 50 headsets, which include microphones, for use in a computer lab for a program called xpresslab.

The closed circuit audio computer system allows students to improve their pronunciation skills, listening comprehension skills and fluency in French.
